When the prostate gland of a normal adult whose size is about the size of a walnut or a golf ball increases to the size of a baseball, then the condition is known as enlarged prostate. This increase in the prostate results in the squeezing of the urethra, which further goes on to weaken the urinary tract , which creates the symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, a condition when the person has to strain himself to urinate or the urine stream is weak.
